14th November 2018
Details: Monday 26th November, 11am-1pm, Clifton Pavilion, Bristol Zoo
After recently falling victim to cyber crime, Smeg UK Ltd — one of our clients — are keen to help other businesses protect themselves against similar attacks. To do this, they’re partnering with us to host an informative event about cyber crime, and share the story of how a ‘ransomware’ virus attempted to bring their business to a halt.
The Insight into Cyber Crime event will address the fact that — while the threats appearing in our increasingly connected world can be alarming — there are plenty of steps you can take to identify potential weak spots in your business’s IT systems and maximise protection.
Specialist speakers will discuss how cyber insurance can significantly cover costs for businesses that fall prey to cyber attacks, including:
- Specialist IT experts, to deal with the initial shut-down and get your systems back online
- Your own IT costs, when dealing with the myriad associated issues
- Business interruption costs
- Dealing with GDPR breaches
- Paying the Bitcoin ransom, if necessary
Despite the fact that Smeg UK Ltd invest heavily in their IT infrastructure, they still found themselves in this challenging situation. Thankfully, however, they came through it — and, in doing so, realised the benefits of sharing their experience with the wider business community.
Nobody’s immune from cyber attacks; have you done enough to protect your business?
